To This Day

“My experiences with violence in schools still echo throughout my life but standing to face the problem has helped me in immeasurable ways. Schools and families are in desperate need of proper tools to confront this problem. This piece is a starting point.” In this beautiful poem Shane Koyczan talks about his experiences of bullying during school.

If you are being bullied the most important thing is to remember that it is not your fault, bullying can happen to anyone no matter what their position is at work. Talk to someone you trust about it. This could be a friend, parent, teacher or school counsellor. If that sounds too scary you can call Kids Helpline or talk to a counsellor’s through eheadspace‘s counselling service.
